Art. Poetry. Comedy. Music.
Well, I am having the last laugh throughout the pandemic. I created a stand up routine called Corona Queen V. I have kept myself amused with my art that i have consequently named Covid Chaos. The Covid Virus is a crown under the microscope. So my art features many different colours of the Corona Virus. The toilet roll Company “Who Gives A Crap” provided my supplies during the stress of the pandemic but the silver lining here is that the colourful wrappers inspired my art. So I have created collages as well. The Pandemic surfaced underlining hidden mental illnesses which launched me into mainstream society rather than the isolated marginalised lifestyle I had been comfortable with. Communify and Big Fork Theatre have been instrumental in creating a creative lifestyle that I am now extremely comfortable with. I encourage everyone to embrace your inner artist. To create is to be at one with your higher power.

Do you wish to laugh or make people laugh? Or would you rather people laugh with you???? Join the giggle fest! Pick up your Big Fork!
All possible at Big Fork! Classes or Shows. Which ever way you wish to go!!!
Wether you desire to be on stage or in the audience, we are all equal at Big Fork!
We really need your laughter! Comedy is cathartic! Laughter is the very best medicine. Dr V gives you a dramatic prescription for one dose of belly laughs once a week and a cheeky giggle a day. Plus a lifetime renewal for your own personal laughter when ever needed. Now, would that not be so cool if you could get one of those? Well, just imagine you do, and come to Big Fork for an improvised show. (Made up on stage in that moment) Or a stand up comedy show performed by Brisbanes funniest comedians. However if you really want to challenge yourself why not learn to make others laugh. Big Fork offers free taster classes regularly. You do not need to be a comedian or actor to learn the Art of Improvisation. One of my fellow class participants is learning improvisation to develop leadership strategies for the corporate world.
If you too, struggle with a mental illness as I do with P.T.S.D. and anxiety come to Big fork Theatre or Communify. Both these two non profit organisations will change your life.
When I first was introduced to The Love St Blues Band I could not sing in time. The leader would comment “The whole band will not be waiting for you Varinia” Well now I have great pitch and timing. Everyone has a voice. You just need encouragement in how to use it. But use it………………………………………………………………
The Love St Blues Band is a Communify, community project.
I am studying my third course in the Fundamentals of Improvisation. Your mind is a storehouse of potential hilarious moments that you can instantly share with your class and hopefully with an audience if you graduate after joining the Big Fork community family. That is what Big Fork is all about. Connecting you to community.
So if you are sweating out a hard shift at your workplace and have not laughed for awhile, come and investigate Big Fork Theatre! You will be pleasantly surprised, at how easy it is to adapt to comedy.
i joined Big Fork Theatre because I wished to gain improvisational skills for my stand up performances. I was blown away in my first Fundamentals course that there was only one other stand up in the course. Everyone else were not performers but every day guys and gals just like you. So there is no need to feel intimidated. It is not at all complicated. Believe me. When you get a taste of Big Fork you will never ever go for the tiny fork again………………………………………….
I had a ball performing my standup comedy skit at Big Fork. Corona Queen V is having a successful reign. I gave out twenty-four “Who Gives A Crap” toilet rolls. I received a great response.
